Catherine Byerley is a Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation Attorney in Hickory. Her practice focuses on representing individuals injured as the result of motor vehicle and work place accidents.
Catherine is a native to North Carolina, she received her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and her law degree from Elon University School of Law. While in law school, she co-founded the school’s Mock Trial Team and served as Solicitor of the Law School’s Honor Counsel.
Growing Passion for Legal Work
After passing the North Carolina Bar, Catherine began working for a Fortune 500 insurance company handling workers’ compensation claims. Shortly thereafter, she began working as a Workers’ Compensation Defense attorney representing insurance companies and employers. This provided her with a unique perspective and understanding of the claims process which she uses to advocate on behalf of her clients when dealing with the insurance carriers. Catherine’s passion is making sure her clients succeed under the workers’ compensation process. Her goal is to ensure her client’s receive all the benefits to which they are entitled.
Catherine is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the Catawba County Bar.
Catherine and her husband Matthew, also an attorney, have one daughter. Catherine is an avid sports fan and enjoys cheering on her alma mater, Appalachian State University, and catching a Carolina Panthers game whenever she can.
