Brian was born in Anderson, South Carolina. He grew up in southern Greenville County, and graduated from Woodmont High School. Brian participated in Mock Trial which confirmed his lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer.

Brian is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He obtained his B.A. in 1995 and his Juris Doctorate degree in 2000. He is the first person in his family to graduate from college. Brian worked for the Student Discipline Office and the Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina during his undergraduate career. Brian was a law clerk for an Aiken law firm during law school and helped with a large consumer class action lawsuit. Brian was also a research assistant for a law school professor.

Brian has been in practice as a South Carolina lawyer since 2001. His first job as a lawyer was with a small personal injury practice in Greenwood, South Carolina for more than one year. Brian handled motor vehicle accidents, criminal law, and general civil disputes. Brian then went to practice for a small general practice firm in Columbia handling plaintiffs, defense, foreclosures, and criminal law for ten years. Brian has also worked for several defense firms before joining the Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor, P.C. in the fall of 2015.

Brian has handled matters at all levels in state and federal courts in South Carolina. He has argued cases before the South Carolina Supreme Court and the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Brian has served as lead counsel in numerous actions including personal injury, professional negligence, collections, contractual matters, and criminal law. He has tried cases to a verdict in civil and criminal matters ranging from a simple car accident to murder to complex governmental contractor disputes.

Brian is also admitted before the United States District Court of South Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, and he has served on numerous committees including the Ethics Advisory Committee, Professional Responsibility Committee, and the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Brian has also participated as a mock trial coach for schools in Columbia and Greenwood.

Brian has authored two articles. One is “Church Bells and Wheelchairs: The ADA and Religion” for the South Carolina Trial Lawyers (now South Carolina Association for Justice) Bulletin, Fall 2001 issue. The second is “Leave the Representation, Take the Cannoli: The Crime Fraud Exception to the Attorney-Client Privilege and The Godfather for the July 2011 issue of the South Carolina Lawyer Magazine.

Brian and his wife, Amy, have two sons. His oldest son plays the sousaphone for the University of South Carolina “Mighty Sound of the Southeast” Marching Band. His youngest son plays the baritone for the Irmo High School Marching Band. Brian and his family are members of the First Baptist Church of Irmo. Brian is an avid band parent and enjoys playing computer, video, board games, Marvel superhero movies with his boys and wife in his spare time. Brian’s family also includes two cats.
